Lorrie Fenn resides in the small mountain town of Floyd, Virginia with her husband, two cats, and rabbit. She grew up in Dunbar just outside of Charleston, WV and eventually made her way to Huntington, WV in 2001 to attend the College of Fine Arts at Marshall University for five years. She majored in Fine Arts with a concentration in graphic design, an interest that seemed like the obvious choice after years of excess creativity. During that time she landed a design internship in 2002 working with Colleen Anderson of Mother Wit Writing and Design assisting in a college catalog layout. She later interned the summer of 2005 as a product development intern at Neighborhoodies.com in Brooklyn, NY creating a ready-to-wear line of children’s clothing that was sold online and in their stores nationwide.
After leaving Marshall University in 2006 Lorrie traveled many miles north to New York City where she worked as Executive Assistant at People of Color in Crisis in downtown Brooklyn. This job required detailed organization, travel assistance, light grant writing, and large-scale event planning. Two years later she headed south with her now-husband to Floyd, Virginia where she worked for one year at Wall Residences as an in-house print designer and marketer. Lorrie now works from her home studio as a freelance graphic designer, jewelry designer, and blogger. She also dabbles occasionally in painting, photography, interior design and catering.
